This lecture will show how a security model and a resiliency model can be
developed and implemented in highly distributed communication environments.
The transport, logistics and port industry is a highly distributed infrastructure and
depends strongly on ICT. Incidents like the attack against Maersk shipping line
show the vulnerability of single companies but also on the complex communication
community within the port industry.
In this lecture we will describe the complex distributed communication
infrastructure, the dependability and we will see how security and resilience can
be introduced. Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) is a promising approach to
support solutions. We will discuss how DLT can solve security problems and what
kind of additional measures can be used.
This lecture is based on practical experiences of actual project work and gives
exemplary views to real problems in the port industry.
